Pumpkin

A warming bowl of pumpkin soup on a chilly autumn day — who can resist? But pumpkin is just as tasty in stews, pies or even bread. This versatile autumn crop is at its best from September to November. You’ll no doubt recognise the classic Halloween pumpkin with its orange colour and round shape. But there are plenty of other varieties too, like grey pumpkins and butternut. And the seeds? Don’t throw them away — roast them in the oven for a crunchy snack in no time!
