Lettuce

Lettuce is one of the most popular leafy vegetable around and a staple in many kitchens. As the name suggests, we mostly eat the leaves of this vegetable. Lettuce comes in all sorts of shapes and flavours — from crisp iceberg and tender butterhead to peppery rocket and decorative oak leaf. Varieties like iceberg and butterhead are often used as a base for salads, while types like rocket are more commonly added as a topping, for example to finish off a tasty pasta dish.
