Beetroot

Beets are root vegetables that grow underground. Their natural harvest season runs from July to October. Red beetroot is the most popular variety, but there are also yellow, white and Chioggia types. They add an earthy flavour to dishes — whether raw, boiled, roasted or steamed. They’re also often used as a natural colouring to give sauces or bakes a reddish hue. With their rich nutritional value, beets easily earn their superfood status and are a favourite in healthy juices and smoothies. And did you know the leaves are edible too? Delicious in salads or stir-fries!
