Round winter radish

You might be thinking: what exactly is round winter radish? Also known as the “Japanese radish”, it’s the bigger, older brother of the regular radish. Just as crunchy, but much larger and milder in flavour. Like radishes, the round winter radish is at its best in spring and late summer. It’s often round with a black skin, though some varieties are longer with a lighter peel. Slice it open and you’ll find a snow-white, juicy centre that’s incredibly versatile. Think fresh salads, soups, dips, stir-fries, on a sandwich or simply as a snack. Enjoy!
