Garden cress

To keep garden cress fresh for as long as possible, it’s best to store it in the pot it came in. This sprouting green isn’t suitable for drying. You can freeze it, but the leaves will go limp.

Watercress and garden cress may sound similar, but they differ clearly in taste and use. Watercress has round leaves, grows in water and has a fresh, peppery flavour. Garden cress has fine stems with tiny leaves and a sharper, mustard-like taste. Watercress is often used in salads or soups, while garden cress is popular as a punchy garnish on bread or in dishes.
