Cedrik Van Den Borre graduated in 2008 and then decided to help out on his parents’ farm, where they kept dairy cattle and grew arable crops.
Six years later, after discovering his passion for vegetable growing during an internship, he became an independent farmer.
Besides leeks, Chinese cabbage and pumpkins, Cedrik also grows organic turnips. He started with conventional turnips in 2014 but switched to the organic variety a year later.
He grows organic vegetables on leased organic land but is now also transitioning his own land to organic. Once that’s complete, he plans to further expand his range of organic vegetables, including organic pumpkins.
