The Doyenné du Comice pear, also known as the “queen of pears,” more than lives up to its name. With its stunning looks and deliciously sweet flavour, this pear truly has it all! It’s beautifully round with a smooth, yellow-green skin that often blushed red on the sun-warmed side. A perfect dessert pear, it’s celebrated for its rich, aromatic notes.
To ripen them more quickly, keep the pears at room temperature, for example next to apples.
Check the ripeness of Doyenné du Comice pears by gently pressing at the stem end. If it gives slightly, they’re ripe and ready to eat. If it still feels firm, leave them at room temperature for a few more days to ripen.
