About Family Hermans
Geert Hermans comes from a true growers’ family. His father used to grow tomatoes and lettuce for MTV. In 1990, Geert and his wife started growing tomatoes themselves but soon ran into a lack of opportunities to expand. In 2008, they switched to strawberries, as this product wasn’t being grown yet in the Moerzeke area. This turned out to be the right decision because today the couple runs a thriving business with 1.6 hectares of strawberries under glass (Sonata and Elsanta varieties) and cherries. During the season, the farm employs 10 people.
