Gooseberry

The gooseberry, also known as the prickly or crossberry, is a delicious berry with a fuzzy skin. It has quite a tart flavour, but this depends on how ripe the berry is: the riper, the sweeter. Usually, the gooseberry is light green, but it also comes in red, yellow, or purple. This berry is great for making sauces to accompany meat or fish.
