Clock sales
Welcome to the BelOrta clock sale, the beating heart of our cooperative. From Monday to Saturday, the dynamic auction takes place here, where supply and demand come together. Our six computer-controlled auction clocks drive this process, allowing buyers to bid immediately on various products, such as fruits and vegetables, brought to the auction by the growers.
How does the clock sale work?
The operation of our auction clocks is simple and efficient. Buyers can follow the price evolution on a light ring with 100 illuminated lamps. The system rotates counterclockwise and starts with an opening price. The price steadily decreases until the first buyer presses their button, stopping the clock and completing a transaction.
Once a buyer has stopped the clock, they receive an audio connection with the auctioneer to communicate the desired quantity. The sale continues until all lots are sold. Thanks to the system of specifications and classification into quality blocks, there is no uncertainty for buyers regarding the quality of the products. All vegetables and fruit presented at the auction are carefully inspected, so buyers can be confident they are purchasing fresh, high-quality produce.
What stands out in the auction room?
The sales hall is filled with an extraordinary silence, and the buyers are concentratingly watching the clock. Everything is conducted via the electronic auction clock. On the clock face, the price; the available quantities; the location; the packaging; and the quality of the products are displayed. While the clock is running, it is crucial to step in at the right moment. It is an exciting and efficient way of purchasing.
Each buyer has their own national copernumber, which is valid for each auction, ensuring efficient and orderly transaction processing.
