Surprisingly fun
Visit BelOrta
BelOrta is buzzing with activity. On a single sales day, the staff sometimes handle up to 4,000 tons of fruits and vegetables. You definitely won’t be bored when you visit Europe’s largest cooperative auction. Our experienced company guide will happily tell you more about the history of the auction system, and of BelOrta in particular. You’ll learn how the auction system works, follow the journey that fruits and vegetables take from the producer to your local supermarket, watch the unique clock auction system up close, and much more.
Visit BelOrta Sint-Katelijne-Waver
- Group size: minimum 15 and maximum 25 people; individual visits are not possible.
- When: Monday, Wednesday & Friday, starting at 9:00 AM.
- Duration: The tour lasts about 2 hours.
- Address: The tour starts at the reception of the (red) main building at Mechelesteenweg 120 (Sint-Katelijne-Waver).
- Cost (which compensates our guides): base rate of €75 per group + €1 per visitor. For a group of 25 people, you pay (€75 + €25 =) €100. Schools can visit free of charge if the visit fits within the learning objectives.
